Each individual piece is hand crafted and carved using the sgraffito technique. This is the technique of painting several coats of underglaze on the damp clay item, then carving the glaze off to reveal the desired artwork. This is very intricate and can take many hours from start to finish.
Made from white stoneware clay, fired at 1260oc. Will last many lifetimes if treated well.
